• Advanced Panel & Princess Seam Construction: The garment is constructed from multiple vertical panels connected via continuous princess seams running from the bust to the hem. Internally, each fabric edge is individually finished with an industrial 3-thread overlock stitch and pressed open—a traditional haute couture technique utilized to keep heavy raw linen completely flat against the body, maintaining a razor-sharp silhouette without adding bulk.
• The Post-Show Hem Shortening: The floor-length dress was cut down by the atelier to an 80 cm mini-profile for showroom or VVIP use. The inner hem is flipped over once and hand-stitched in a rapid, unrefined basting manner—the definitive footprint of a true press sample altered under extreme time constraints.
• The Anatomical Closing of the Slits: On the runway, the continuous princess seams were left open at the lower half to create dramatic, high-set moving slits for Emma Sjöberg’s walk. When the house shortened the dress to 80 cm, leaving the rear slits open would have compromised wearability.
